It’s our weekend and there’s only one place we want to go to: the beach! As I am sitting on the beach in Vlora, looking around, it makes me happy to see everyone is enjoying themselves again. After the many lockdowns we had to endure, it’s time to enjoy the Summer again as we used to do.
There is an interesting dynamic with this many people together. Everyone is kind of living in their own little bubble amongst each other, and I am amazed by the differences between people.
From the left of us, there’s a grandfather sitting with this granddaughter having fun. He’s so caring of her, puts her little glasses on, playing with her in the water. It’s very endearing to watch. On the right there’s a family with 2 little ones. The youngest one is screaming her head off, for what she thinks is probably a very good reason. Ouch, my ears!! How I wish I brought my headphones, and it also makes me feel grateful that we live our lives the way we do.
Today was one of those days where the children seem to be having a contest to see who can cry the loudest. I tried to referee in my head, but so far, they all win!! Whahaha!! Time to go back into the water and listen to the sound of the breaking waves. Ah, what a wonderful sound! Floating around on my inflatable. So relaxing!
After a wonderful day at the beach, I am shocked how much rubbish is left behind. Why do people do that? Why not put it back in your bag, or walk to the nearest bin? With all the pollution in the world, you would think that people are a bit more aware of this. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about it except live our own lives more consciously and clean up the odd plastic here and there that people leave behind.
Hmm, what to do tomorrow? Probably go back to the beach!
What do you like to do on the weekend?
