My cooking is slowly improving, and it makes it easier to try and make new things. As vegetarians, options can be a bit limited when you want to save a bit of money. Because let’s face it, we live in a world where unhealthy food is often cheaper than healthy food. The same goes for soft tortilla wraps. I’m not saying these are super healthy, but they are also not very bad for you. Depending on the country we live in, prices vary a lot, or they are hard to find.
We love wraps because of their versatility. You can make so many delicious things with wraps! So, it was time to make some of our own. The process is super easy and doesn’t take up too much time and you only need 5 ingredients!!!
Start off by mixing the dry ingredients together in a bowl, after that you add the wet ingredients. Mix everything well by hand and start kneading for a couple of minutes until you get a firm and smooth ball. Put it onto a floured bench top and divide the ball into 16 equal pieces.
Flatten the balls as much as you can with the palm of your hand and let the dough rise under a tea towel for about 30 minutes. Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough and cook the tortilla for 30-60 seconds per side. And now you have soft tortilla wraps!
You can store them in the fridge for about 4-5 days or freeze them for up to 6 months! If you need to reheat them, wrap the tortillas in foil and warm them in the oven for 10 minutes, or cover them in a damp paper towel and microwave for about 25 seconds. Easy peasy!
Enjoy and until next time!
