As a huge fan of the series Friends, I finally had the opportunity to interview them. I’ve been trying to get this interview since 2004, but they’ve all been very busy. Are you ready for this iconic interview?!

Me: Hi guys, welcome and thank you for this interview. I’m such a big fan of the show and still watch the reruns. I think I’ve watched all of the seasons at least 15 times front to back. 

All 6: “No problem. It’s good to be here.

Me: Okay, my first question is for you Joey. Rachel made a trifle for Thanksgiving, but she made a mistake in the recipe. She made half a trifle, half a Shepard’s pie. All of the others didn’t seem to enjoy it, but you did. Why was that?

Joey: “Well, I like it… I mean, what’s not to like? Custard, good. Jam, good. Meat, good!”

Me: “Haha, you have a point there. And Ross, you ate it because you felt sorry for Rachel, but you seemed to have more problems with the smell?”

Ross: “It smelled like feet!”

Me: Rachel. After you got pregnant you were thinking about moving out of Joey’s apartment. Why was that?

Rachel: “I didn’t want my baby’s first words to be ‘How You Doing?”

Phoebe: “This is brand-new information!”

Me: Monica, when Rachel showed up in her wedding dress and had no place to go, you took her in. That was so sweet! You also gave her some really good advice. Can you remember what that was?

Monica: “I said: Welcome to the real world. It sucks. You’re gonna love it.”

Me: That is so true! Great advice Monica! Now Chandler, if you could give me any advice about life. What would that be?

Chandler: “I’m not so good with the advice. Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?”

Me: Haha, always! Thanks. Monica, when you and Chandler just got together you guys tried to hide it from everyone, but Joey was the first one to find out and then Rachel and Phoebe. You tried to fool them because …

Monica: “They didn’t know that we knew that they knew!”

Me: Yes, but they knew that you knew that they knew, and had a lot of fun with it. Phoebe, you came up with the plan to seduce Chandler. That was brilliant!

Phoebe: “Yes, Chandler was really struggling not to fall for me. It was so easy. “God, I love how sexy I am.” And the best thing was: “they didn’t know that we knew that they knew that we knew!” 

Me: It was very entertaining to watch! Now, Phoebe, or can I call you Pheebs? That is your nickname right? Would you share your grandmother’s cookie recipe with me? 

Phoebe: “Oh, Pheebs is short for Phoebe. I thought that’s just what we called each other.” and to answer your question Renée: “I wish I could, but I don’t want to.”

Me: Uhm, okay that’s a very honest answer. Thank you, I guess? Back to you Joey! You really love food, but it did cost you a few potential relationships. Why was that?

Joey: “Joey doesn’t share food!!” I have a question for you Renée: Where are you from?

Me: I’m from the Netherlands.

Joey: “Nice try! See, the Netherlands is this make-believe place where Peter Pan and Tinkerbell come from.”

Me: Uhm Joey, it’s a real country! It’s in Europe and west of Germany.

Joey: “How you doin’?”

Me: (chuckles a bit shy) Better now! Before I get too distracted, Ross, back to you. You also seem to like food, but you eat quite fast. Why is that?

Ross:  “I grew up in a house with Monica, okay. If you didn’t eat fast, you didn’t eat.”

Rachel, Joey, Chandler and Phoebe: True. We’ve seen her pictures from back then and she was huge!

Monica: Excuse me?! “Fine! Judge all you want, but: married a lesbian, left a man at the altar, fell in love with a gay ice dancer, threw a girl’s wooden leg in a fire, LIVE IN A BOX!”

Me: Sorry that I asked. (very nervously) Let’s go to the next question. “Ross, you and Rachel have been on and off for many years. And early in your relationship you cheated on Rachel. I think nobody expected that from you, considering how in love you were.

Ross: “We were on a break!”

Me: Okay, that is a clear answer. Rachel, after you got back together the first time, you had a big fight. Do you remember what you said?

Rachel: Sure, I said: “Hey, just so you know: It’s NOT that common, it DOESN’T happen to every guy and it IS a big deal!

Chandler:  “I KNEW IT!”

Me: Ross, you and Rachel also got married once. 

Ross: “In Vegas. I was so drunk, I could’ve married Joey.”

Rachel: “Isn’t that just kick-you-in-the-crotch, spit-on-your-neck fantastic.”

ME: But eventually you had a beautiful daughter together and did end up together

Phoebe: “He’s her lobster!”

Me: You are right Phoebe, and I’m so happy they eventually got together again. My final question is for you Chandler. When you wanted to propose to Monica it didn’t really go smoothly in the beginning, but your words to her were amazing. Do you remember what you said?

Chandler: I said: “I thought that it mattered what I said or where I said it. Then I realized the only thing that matters is that you, that you make me happier than I ever thought I could be and if you let me I will spend the rest of my life trying to make you feel the same way.”

Me: That’s amazing Chandler, we can only hope to find a person that loves us as much as you love her. Guys, thank you so much for this interview. I really enjoyed it! Safe travels!
