I love music!! Not a specific kind of music, but I like different styles of music. It depends a little bit on what mood I am in. I mean, when I have to clean the house, I like to listen to upbeat music, but when I have to study or work, I prefer calm background music. Do I have a music playlist? I have one.

This is a selection of music my Dad liked (CCR, ELO, Beatles, Golden Earring, Neil Young, Phil Collins, and so much more). He introduced me to all kinds of music. He loved music and had an uncountable amount of cd’s.
When I was younger I always carried around a walkman with me. One of the first tapes I listened to was ‘Bad’ from Michael Jackson, but I also loved Meatloaf, Prince, Gloria Estefan and a few Dutch singers: René Froger and Lois Lane (don’t judge me, haha). Later on I developed into a discman. Oh, the discman, how I loved and hated that thing at the same time! Every time I cycled over a small bump, the cd would skip or get stuck, and I had to take it out of my coat again to press play. Back then I listened a lot to Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Santana, but also East 17, Take That and the Backstreet Boys. Yes, I was one of those typical teenagers. (what I am not sharing here is that I had a brief period where I listened to hardcore, rave and techno, sorry Mum!)
Then I had an mp3 player. My playlist had a lot of Motown, R&B, and Soul music on it. I love older music! These days we listen to music on our smartphones, and I still listen a lot to Whitney Houston, but I like all different types of music, especially music from the 60’s and 70’s (rock music). But I don’t really have a set playlist.
My favorite singer is Whitney Houston
When she brought out the Bodyguard album, I was hooked! She was so beautiful and had the most amazing voice! As I am writing this I am actually listening to one of her songs: ‘Saving all my love for you’. There is something in her voice that makes me feel good. What appeals me to singers is the ability to make me feel the music and the lyrics. If any singer can do that, you have a fan for life!
