Okay, some of these prompts are setting you up to talk about serious topics. I don’t want my blog to become too serious. I want to share with you ALL kinds of happy life decisions I have made to lead a happier life. Not all of them have been heavy hearted, emotional or serious. A lot of my happy life decisions were small, and filled with humor. I mean, what is life without a bit of humor! So every now and then I will NOT write a serious post, and will try to make you laugh (or at least chuckle a bit).
From the top of my head I can already name dozens of examples of things that make me feel strong, but I am trying to create posts that are easy to read and will not take too much of your time. So here we go! Things that make me feel STRONG:
1. When I can open a jar of pickles on my own!
My goodness! That feeling when I can finally eat that pickle that I have been craving for hours because I couldn’t open the jar!
2. When I can carry 5 heavy bags of groceries back home!
My record is 7!!! Does it happen to you? When you are standing at the register, you bag all the groceries, look at the amount of (heavy) bags, and think: ‘how on earth am I going to get this home?’ It happens to me at least a couple of times a month, but I succeed in getting them home safe every single time!
3. When I finally solved that riddle that everyone seems to understand except me!
Paul finds these fun riddles on FB, and he is always so quick in solving them. Paul is really intelligent with these things. Then he turns to me and says: ‘This was easy!’ My reaction: ‘Yes, super easy!’ (No way that I am going to admit that it took me a while to figure it out!)
4. When I can walk with my heavy backpack (which is full with unnecessary stuff) without falling over.
A couple of years ago on my first backpack trip (with my mom), we stayed the night before we left for Vietnam with a friend of mine in Amsterdam. From her house we took the bus to the airport. When the bus made a sudden stop, I fell over on my back and couldn’t get up! I looked like a turtle on its back, flapping my arms and legs around to try and get back up!
As you can read, there are a lot of small things that make me feel strong!
